I did the free upgrade to Windows 10 and it has been abysmal on performance.
Today I pulled out my full package product Windows 7 64bit DVD. I proceeded to put it in the DVD drive and booted the machine and selected F12 and set the boot from DVD.
Windows Install starts but when I get prompted to Install Windows 7 it proceeds to the next step but it can't see any of my hard drive(s).
I have a default Dell XPS 8500 (no modifications as delivered) and I proceeded to download the SATA driver onto a USB but when I get to this step it does not seem to recognise my USB device when I plug it in. It certainly presents the USB devices, but when I plug in nothing happens.
I also tried from the BIOS booting from both Legacy Boot and UEFI boot but the same issue occurs and I just can't get past this roadblock step. Windows OS does not seem to be able to see the volumes/disks.
I have installed latest BIOS update. I've attached some screenshots of the steps undertaken.
Any ideas on steps to correct..
