XPS 8900 Adding Second Hard Drive

Good day:

I recently purchased a Dell XPS 8900 with a C drive WDC WD10EZEX-75M2NA0. I have a dell Vostro 430 with a C drive Samsung HD103SJ that I am not using anymore.  I wish to install the Samsung HD as a D drive in my new XPS 8900 workstation.

The Samsung drive was my booting drive on the old PC. Do I need to clean it up before installing on the new PC or can I install without worrying that the PC may be confused about booting?

Are there instructions available to install this HD on the XPS 8900 or general steps?
