Hi, lm currently in need of restoration media.. lve been provided with a Dell Inspiron 15R N5110 to repair which when it came into my possession was unbootable..
l managed to rectify the situation (which was essentially a corrupted registry) however the system is beyond slow even now that lve disabled over 400 processes which were running in the background.. suffice to say after backing up the persons photos along with running relevant scans on backups lve made outside of windows (the files seem clean) l believe the best course of action would be a full clean install so l can be sure that any possible viruses are purged from the system along with getting rid of all the crud that the person has accrued over the install.
problem is l visited support and used the service key to find the restore image but it seems one isnt hosted.. which means lve had to look elsewhere..
a friend has linked to me to this resource (its a legal site that offers restoration media for free lve used in the past which used to have links hosted by Microsoft at least before the windows 7 links were pulled because Win10 is on offer). suffice to say, this site hosts a iso version of "7 Home Premium" which the laptop uses, and l wish to know will the Dell COA (the Code on the underside of laptop) work as when l reinstall l plan to remove the recovery partition as well.
