Hi,
I have a new Dell XPS8700 (i7 CPU, 16 GB RAM, Windows 8.1) and everything was fine until the Dell Backup and Recovery software appeared a couple of days ago, i.e. a Window appeared and prompted me to initiate / install the software (can't actually remember exactly what the message was...). Anyways, it seemed to load up ok (albeit very slowly), but ever since then the computer is running at snail's pace, i.e. videos play jerkily and it has to stop and think before opening some files. Very annoying.
I can't be 100% that it is the Backup and Recovery Software that has caused this, but the slow down exactly coincided with it, and I haven't done much else to the computer. The only things I've done are to get rid of McAfee now the free trial has run out and download Avira anti-virus software, and install Adobe Lightroom (and download a load of photos). These changes didn't cause any problems.
I'd be very grateful for any help. If it is this software, can I just uninstall it? Do other people get this problem?
