I have been having trouble with my Wireless Network Adapter. I am losing my connection and must run the Troubleshooter roughly every hour. As indicated below, I have attempted a number of fixes without success.
My computer is a Dell XPS L502X, 64-bit, running Windows 7 Home with SP1.
My Wireless Network Adapter is an Intel Centrino-N 1030. The driver is version 15.11.0.7, dated 1/26/2014.
I was not able to update the driver via the Update Driver function in the “Device Manager.” And, the Dell Driver Website did not indicate drivers newer than 15.7.x.x.
The Intel Website shows the current version of the driver as 17.1.1504.1 (7/21/2015) for the Win 7, 64-bit version of this adapter. I have downloaded this driver and attempted to install it several times, but it only reverts to the 15.11.0.7 driver.
I ran the Dell Support Assistant Updater and was able to update the BIOS, Chipset, Video, and Chipset.
Questions:
- What is causing the Centrino Wireless-N 1030 Adapter to continue to fail and require a troubleshooting Fix?
- Why am I unable to install the most current driver directly from Intel?
- How can I determine if the Wireless Adapter itself is faulty and needs to be replaced?
