Inspiron 15 OS gone

Long story.

1st let me state I don't have a problem with Wal-Mart store #1978 in Plymouth, IN. The store management has tried to help with my problem.

The problem: I purchased from store 1978, a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop on May 21, 2015. The bar code #84116 14467. This was a high school graduation present for my daughter so she would have a computer for college. She started school on July 6th, 2015. During the week of July 13th her computer crashed. She didn't make a recovery disk. She called me for advice and I told her to take it to Staples & have look them to at it. That was on July 18th.

Staples identified the problem as the operating system had crashed. That they would contact Dell for the needed recovery media. Problem solved? No.

After trying to get the needed recovery media from Dell for three weeks, I had the computer was picked up by my oldest son to bring to me. Dell kept telling Staples that they didn't recognize the Service Tag or the Express Service Code from Dell's own sticker on the laptop. Staples didn't charge a penny for their service.

Once I had the computer, August 4th, I tried to talk with Dell. I was told that I needed to send them a copy of the receipt from the purchase of the computer and the invoice number showing that Wal-Mart had purchased the laptop for resale.

Since I had lost the receipt, I returned to Wal-Mart store 1978 where a night manger named Jay was able to locate the transaction and give me a copy of my receipt. Wal-Mart didn't charge me a penny for this service.

Now armed with the receipt, pictures of the Service Tag and the Express Service Code, pictures of the box & all labels containing bar codes, I instant messaged Dell thru facebook and sent the pictures. Why instant message, I am hard of hearing and talking to Dell Customer Service or Tech Service which is wherever is difficult. Must be in India and the names on the thread appear to be from there.

Dell is still insisting that I provided them an invoice number or however Wal-Mart purchased this laptop for resale. At the time I went to Wal-Mart to get the receipt, the store #1978 still had the same model laptop on sale and display.

So any help you could give with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
