I am unable to connect to the WIFI Network through my Laptop Dell VOSTRO 1440 ( [Amin Note: Service Tag Edited per TOU policy] ) using WIN 7 (64 Bit)
I am able to see 2 issues in drivers in the Other Devices Section in Device Manager
1. Network Controller Properties -( PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4727&SUBSYS_00121028&REV_01\4&7427AB5&0&00E1 )
2. PCI Simple Communications Controller - (PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3B64&SUBSYS_051C1028&REV_06\3&11583659&0&B0)
Can you please guide us here ASAP ?
unbelievable - my 5-year old intel i7 n7110 cannot be upgraded to windows 10, so it's now obsolete www.dell.com/.../SLN297954. its not that old - i have an hp from 2007 thats running windows 10 fine. Coupled with the second-generation venue pro tablet hardware fiascos and price gouging, it's clear Dell is no longer customer or quality-focused. i am working through my last Dell products. Thanks for everything and nothing Dell.
I did a new install of Windows 7 last year when Microsoft discontinued support of Windows XP. This year I used the free upgrade to Windows 10
I have an OPTI Plex 755 which is probably 5 years old.
Dell System Detect does not execute after the Windows 10 install. I printed out the Error Summary. It began:
Activation of C:\Users\Paulette|AppData\Rjoaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Dell\Dell System Detect.appref-ms| resulted in exception. Following failure messages were detected:
+the deployment identity does not match the subscription.
There is more. Does anyone have an idea what the problem maybe and how I can regain use of my cd/dvd?

Just brought an XPS 8300, and noticed that as soon as I got it out of the box, I had stutters of the system, the whole system "lags" or "stutters" for up to 2 seconds at a time, this can happen once every 4 hours, to 6-7 times in a 45 minute timespan, no matter what Im doing (Listening to Music, playing a game).
I found an issue on YouTube, that is exactly what I am getting!

Reported this to Dell, they are sending my CDs to reinstall Windows 7, but I dont think this is a software issue. Ran the dell diog untils (F12) and they all passed, nothing in the event log.

I have xps l502x, out of warranty, and I am reinstalling win 7. It ask for drivers, but it will not accept my "drivers and utility" cd. When I load the cd and reboot I get "No Operating System..." message.
Do I load the drivers before install the os? How do I do that? Or, is there an easier alternative.

I perhaps made a mistake in believing Dell had it together when I upgraded to Windows 10. I can not connect to any Bluetooth devices and no WiFi at all. Laptop stays in Airplane Mode and it cannot be shut off.
I have tried every option I know to correct the problem, except moving back to 8.1, which I may yet do since I have had nothing but problems since moving to Windows 10.
If moving back to Windows 8.1 is a viable option, even though it would mean re-installing all my programs, I guess that is a solution.
Worst part, it is now no longer under warranty and I am going to have to pay for support. I am hoping to find a viable solution here.
The device in question is the 1704 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 mhz WiFi adapter.
Any help would be welcome. This Dell is barely a year old.

I have a new Inspiron 15 5559 laptop. There seems to be no way to configure the BIOS to boot from a Win 10 repair disc. After a crash on my old laptop I know how important it is to be able to restore an image from my external backup drive.
Help please as I can't see how to get the optical drive listed in the boot order. There doesn't seem to be any mention of it.

I've just bought my new XPS 13, and after starting the PC, i noticed that Dell Backup and Recovery software is not available, and the recovery partition is missing, How can i get a set of recovery disks to recover my PC back to factory settings?.
I tried going to this link to order a new recovery disks, but i keep getting the error "Sorry we appear to have an issue with one of our services (ASQ) , please wait a few minutes and try again."
Please help me as i don't know what to do?

Last month I bought a dell XPS 8700 (i7 4790, 8gb) model from Dell.com & it has a 1 TB 7200 rpm hard drive.
Now I need to install Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD to my machine & i need your advice on following;
1. Do I need to purchase 2.5" to 3.5" Internal Hard Disk Drive Mounting Kit for this purpose?
2. Do I need to purchase additional SATA III cable?
3. Do I need to purchase additional power cables or not?
4. What is the correct method to install Windows 8.1 to this SSD?
Since i'm not an elect guy, your educating opinions / advises are highly appreciated.

A couple of novice questions....
I've just taken delivery of an XPS 8900, which comes with a hybrid 2TB HDD with a 32GB SSD. I also have a spare Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD.
1. I assume that I am better off installing the Samsung SSD and using it as my boot/system drive. Is that correct?
2. Can I then treat the hybrid HDD as a regular HDD, or does it have any special characteristics that I should be aware of?

I recently installed Windows 10 Enterprise Eval build 10240 (64bit) on my Inspiron 15 (5547, Early 2014) but when I try to install drivers all drivers give me this error: "The update installer operation is unsuccessful".
Without drivers laptop is useless and I am in so much trouble.
So please fix your drivers for Inspiron 15 (5547) and check them on same laptop with same version of windows before uploading on your database.
